Veggie Beds

We now at last have some veggie beds and I have planted some seedlings that include, beetroot, red onion, spring onion, leek, carrot, spinach, snow peas and broccoli. Hope they grow...they have benefited from the rain we have had lately which is great. Can't wait to harvest chemical free, healthy veggies.

Plantings, cuttings and a new farm

I spent time in the garden today separating some of my plants to make more plants, I also took cuttings from the lavendars and a ground cover I have that has gone absolutely mad but in a good way. Hopefully all will take and we will end up with loads of plants to start our garden. Also have a look at the veggie garden....it has grown...some didnt' take but others did and I am quite pleased. Oh I almost forgot to tell you, we bought a little farm today...haha....a worm farm. Can't wait for the fantastic stuff they produce and be able to put it on my real veggie garden (to come later). Take a look at the pics.

Not doing so good on my mission

I am not doing so good on my mission to lose my wobbly bits. I started off really excited and motivated but things started to get me down and this is when I become really unmotivated and haven't got the energy or the umph I need to keep it all going. I feel bad about it so I am going to attempt to be better this coming week and get motivated to do everything I used to get motivated about, like drawing and cooking and getting fit. I am only human and think I am just going through a rough patch right now and it will all be smoothed over real soon.

Still on the mission

I am still on that mission to lose the weight.......not happening as fast as I would like it, but I haven't been good every single day.......It is so hard when you love food and wine so much. Any way even though the number on the scales hasn't changed, I do feel a little healthier and fitter (just slightly) coz I have been doing more walking, and I have even got Zoe and Dave to come with me sometimes (although not as often as I would like or they need to). Zoe rode her bike which was good coz I could walk faster than if she was walking with me......she wanted me to ride my bike but I declined as I am the worst bike rider in the world. Never had a bike when I was younger so my balance on one is not that great and I panic a little if anyone comes near me. I'm just not good on a bike and that is that, and anyway there are that many hills in Metung that I would spend most of my time off it and pushing it.

Our miniscule veggie/herb garden.

Finally we have planted some veggies and herbs.....not quite as elaborate and as big as I'd hoped for at Metung but it's a start......Zoe helped plant them. Can't wait to taste them all when they have grown.

Basil

Lots of veg and herbs in here....probably too much.
Oh well we will see how they grow.

This is our pear tree which now has less pears.

Steph's Sensational Food: Prawn Dumplings: Ingredients 300g Green Prawns peeled and deveined 2 x Shallots chopped 1/2 bunch Spring Onions chopped 1/2 bunch Coriander fresh ...

On a mission to lose my wobbly bits

I am on a mission.......to get fit and lose 6 kg of wobbly bits. I have had enough of my wobbly bits that I have accumulated over the last few years from a variety of reasons from getting a little older, from over indulging, from being an emotional eater i.e. get stressed or depressed and I reach for the salty snacks and a glass of wine and the stress I endured 2011 didn't help, it only made it a lot worse. So I have been eating a little less and better (although my usual diet is pretty healthy), drinking a little less wine and exercising more. I have gone out walking with the dogs 3 times this week. Go me! Rusty one of our dogs also needs to lose weight (Vet's recommendation). I am not willing to go on the scales yet because it just hasn't been long enough yet, but we weighed Rusty this morning and he hasn't lost any weight.......he is eating half the amount of food and walking a lot more, I did notice that he isn't snoring as much or as loud though. I just hope there will be better results for me (and I don't mean in the snoring department). Any way I just thought I would share it with you coz while I was out for a walk this morning I kept thinking to myself I really need to blog and I really would like to blog about my new goal because I feel that if I have typed it up here for anyone to see then I am accountable for it, and I will stick to it. I know that my shins will either get trim (not that they need trimming) or give up on me because I can really feel it in them while walking up those hills of Metung,  I just hope the rest of me trims up too. There is no such thing as a leisurely walk at Metung.
